This work comes from the discomfort of realizing how easily we forget.A bold and thought-provoking piece by Hamelink, confronting racism, injustice and the fading memory of real heroes.

A lonely figure sits on a bench marked “Whites Only”, reading names like Martin Luther King, Mandela, Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X — voices that once fought for equality and truth.Around him, the small figures shout “Hey!” — a cry for attention, a reminder that silence can be complicity.
Raw, honest and uncomfortable — exactly what art should be.
